Redesign Your Education

On Oct 6th, 2017 Day of Design is launching its inaugural celebration by asking students, classrooms, and schools across the nation to participate in a 110-minute design Mission, Redesign Your Education, alongside thousands of other U.S. students over the next few months. Students will respond to a real-world problem and work in teams to propose a solution. These Missions provide students and educators the opportunity to think, design, and create like an innovator by applying an entrepreneurial mindset to problem-solving.

While October 6th is our official launch and we would love to have as many participants completing the Mission on that day as possible, the Mission will remain open through January 15, 2018.

The Redesign Your Education Mission provides participants the opportunity to think, design, and create like an innovator by employing an entrepreneurial mindset while creating a solution to a problem. In this Mission, students are asked to innovate the space around them and redesign their education experience whether it be their classroom, textbook, or their extracurricular activities.

Through the completion of this Mission, students will:

  • Acquire knowledge of the Missions solved and posed by the use of creative problem solving and STEM
  • Build important career skills, such as problem-solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and communication skills
  • Begin developing a supportive network of peers, educators, and career mentors/advocates.
  • Grow in confidence, think creatively, engage deeply within the community, and explore possible careers
  • Translate newfound strengths into innovation, local impacts, and jobs

Available Credential

Day of Design Missions encourages students to create like an innovator by employing creative problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial mindset while innovating a solution to a problem.

Day of Design offers digital credentials to recognize students who have completed a Mission. We are asking students to show us what they innovated by showcasing their work through our badges. Students not only have an opportunity to solve real-world problems, but they also have a platform to show the world what they have done and be recognized for it.

Students can earn a Redesign Your Education Badge by submitting their completed Redesign Your Education Canvas and a 2-4 minute short video of their final pitch by January 15th, 2018. Register on our website to receive detailed instructions on how to claim this digital credential for tackling the Redesign Your Education Mission.
